Edges made from PVC
Everybody knows it and nothing works without it: polyvinyl chloride is the most widely used plastic in the world. This is due to its outstanding characteristics. PVC is robust, durable, colour-fast, low maintenance and recyclable. The thermoplastic polymer has also been an integral part of the furniture industry for more than 40 years. We have developed a formula for our PVC edge bands that guarantees particular impact resistance and long service life for milling and other cutting tools. PVC edge bands can be used in offices, in trade fair and shop fittings, for contract furnishings and, of course, also in living areas, kitchens or bathrooms.
Material properties at a glance:
- Tough and long-lasting
- Impact- and scratch-resistant
- Resistant to moisture and dissolvent
- Easy further processing
Production and processing
We produce our PVC edges using an extrusion process. Because we dye all plastics uniformly, the edges can be rounded off without any problems. Our process-friendly raw material recipe enables straight processing as well as curved furniture geometries. The coating of the back of the edges with a universal adhesive agent provides optimum adhesion to the substrate, regardless of whether you are working with hot-melt adhesives or solvent welding.
